I designed the Fire Investigator Personal Training Database as a better way to organize my fire investigation training records. With over 20 years of documents stored on three separate computers and several external drives, I decided I needed to get my things in order.
I had several goals for the database. First, I wanted to record all of my training in one place. I wanted to make it easy to find the certificate for each course and any training materials associated with it. I also wanted to be able to organize my training by the requisite knowledge areas listed in NFPA 1033, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. Lastly, I wanted the system to automatically update my CV.
The solution I came up with is a database built on a Google Sheets workbook. It does all these things and a few more. It's been working great for me and I think it'll work great for you too. Its free to upload. Just follow the link below and follow the instructions in the User Guide.

*Note: The files in the folder are set to "Read Only". You'll need to make a copy of the workbook to start your database!
