Before Class: Get to Know Your Camera

Every camera has similar basic functions, but the location of the controls and the steps required to adjust them vary considerably between manufacturers and models.

Use the Fire Photog Camera Helper below to find instructions for your particular camera. Work through each section with your camera in hand, practice making the adjustments, and add or correct instructions as necessary.

You can save or print your completed worksheet to use as a reference during class.

Don't worry if you don't understand what all these settings do yet. We'll cover that in class. For now, the goal is simply to learn where the controls are and how to operate them.
