Course Materials
Below are links to materials for the Basic Forensic Photography course and the Flash Photography Workshop. Before class, please download and complete the Camera Controls Cheat Sheet, the Flash Controls Cheat Sheet, or both, depending on which course you’re attending. These will serve as quick references for the settings and controls we’ll use in class.
For each setting listed in the table, describe where to find the controls and how to adjust that setting on your camera or flash. You can write the instructions in your own words, copy relevant sections from your equipment manual, or use information from an online search—for example, “How do I change the ISO on a Nikon Z50?”
Whichever method you choose, try the instructions on your equipment to make sure you can find and adjust each setting. Most cameras share the same basic functions, but menus and button layouts vary by make and model. Getting familiar with your equipment ahead of time will help you get more out of class.
It’s okay if you don’t yet understand what each setting does—we’ll cover that in class!
